UNDP’s support to the Libya Experts Development Cooperation Forum (the forum), is an important component in supporting GNA. The forum, which is an assembly of Libyan academics, prominent experts and entrepreneurs, have pledged support for the GNA. They come together every quarter to identify short-term policy priorities and longer-term peacebuilding and state-building initiatives in the country. The forum’s overall objective is to put forward ideas and recommendations that will help the GNA to formulate and subsequently implement a coherent Libyan owned national policy agenda.
Senior expert assistance is required to prepare substantive input material and technical guidance to support the Libya Experts Development Cooperation Forum formulate a national policy agenda that enjoys broad based buy-in and support.
Expert's Porifle:
- Advanced university degree, preferably doctorate, in political science or other subject of relevance to the assignment
- A minimum of 12 years of demonstrated experience in providing policy advice and technical guidance to senior public sector decision makers
- Extensive experience from presenting complex development issues with fluency and brevity verbally and in writing
- Extensive experience from work in the Middle East region, preferably with post conflict and fragile states
- Fluency in English and Arabic a necessary requirement
